Conflict of interest

I am a practicing hospice nurse and I publish a site that carries advertising. Those two facts can pull against each other, so this page lists every organization I have a relationship with and what that relationship blocks them from doing here.

The rule

Any facility I serve clinically, and any organization that employs me, is recused: it may not purchase advertising on this site. The recusal is enforced in the build itself, not by anyone remembering to apply it — a recused organization cannot be given advertising status without the build failing.

Recusal for a current relationship lasts as long as the relationship does. For one that has ended, it continues through a cooling-off period, because a facility that starts advertising the month after I stop working with it raises the same question a current relationship would.

Disclosure outlives recusal. When a cooling-off period expires the organization may advertise like any other, and the past relationship stays listed on this page.

2 relationships disclosed

Riverstone Memory Care

20313 University Blvd, Missouri City, TX 77459

Former relationship. Last engagement 2026-06-23. Recused from advertising here until 2027-06-23.

Ronnie Craig, RN formerly performed nurse delegations and staff TB testing at this facility (last known engagement invoiced 2026-06-23). The clinical relationship has ended.

A recently-ended clinical relationship still creates an appearance problem if the facility starts advertising immediately afterward. 12 months is a conservative, defensible line. After that date the facility may advertise like any other, and the past relationship stays disclosed regardless.

A hospice agency, named to no one

Current relationship. The publisher of this site is employed as a nurse by a Houston-area hospice agency. It is recused from advertising here for as long as that employment continues.

The organization is not named on this page. Naming an employer publicly can breach an employment agreement even when the disclosure is made in good faith, and that agreement has not yet been reviewed. Until it has been, the recusal is enforced without the name being printed — the restriction binds the same either way.

Withholding a name is the weaker form of this disclosure and it is not the intended end state. What matters for a reader is that the organization cannot buy advertising here, and that does not depend on knowing which one it is.

What advertising cannot do here, for anyone

Advertising is flat-fee and never changes the order of results. Rankings are computed from government data before any advertising status is read. No CMS rating, citation or fine on this site can be edited by anyone, including a facility that pays to advertise. Families are never charged, and nobody pays for a lead, a click or a move-in.

Hospice and home health advertising is not sold on this site at all while I practice. The entire category is closed, which is a broader restriction than the recusals above and does not depend on any of them.
